Hi Rick and Judy, and others,
We freeze our corn on the cob much like you described. Pick and clean it, cut
out any bad spots, bring water to a boil in a BIG pot. Plop as much corn in
as you can fit, bring it back to a low boil (not rolling) or 5 minutes, which
ever comes first. Pull it out, air cool, pop into big ziplocks and freeze.
The real trick is when you go to cook/eat it. It can't be boiled again. Just
pull out as many ears as you wish to eat and put them frozen into the
microwave. Cook each ear about 8 - 10 minutes, it'll taste field fresh, well
not quite, but very yummy in mid winter. I read the cooking instructions from
a package of frozen corn on the cob from the grocery store.
