Hi all!
I am Jackie from NW Pa. We,my husband and I and
children, have bought our first farm, after
wanting and waiting thirty some years. My
husband, Pete, retired from the military last
October. We bought a twenty some acre farm with
some small out buildings but no barn, yet. We
have fourty some chickens, so far, two ducks, one
peacock that just wondered by and stayed, two
cats, one dog and a rabbit. we hope to build a
barn in the spring. We have rototilled up a 50x
50 foot plot for our first garden here and are
using the Ruth Stout method. We have a farmers
market nearby that is in great need of vendors
and has a good bit of traffic to it for the few
vendors they do have. We also have apple trees,
one cherry tree, two peach and two plum that we
just planted this year. We also planted blueberry
bushes, six of them, and several raspberry. We
have raised gardens in the past for our own use
but never to sell. hope to learn alot from all of
you.
Good day,
Jackie
