The wild sorrel is called "sheep sorrel" around here. There is also a large
leaf type known as "French Sorrell." French sorrel is the type used by
restaurants. Seeds are available from Johnnys.
Though both have a lemony flavor, sheep sorrel is considered a medicinal, has
small, reddish leaves, shallow roots and sends out underground runners.
French
sorrel has a deep taproot and puts out a seed head with hundreds of tiny
seeds-
it looks similar to some docks.
Best to ask the person which they want or what they'll be using it for.
