Around here (well, not sure up here in the mountains), but down on the
coast, the mole plant was the castor bean. They were a staple in all the old
folks' homeplaces and farms, and still are for those not put off by their
poisonous attributes. As for the evidence of "mole plant" ridding areas of
moles, I have yet to see that proven. Most people switched to those simple,
oversize, whirly-gig daisies--the vibration of the turning petals does keep
moles away. It gets huge!!
