Liz - I didn't technically irrigate but I quickly hand-watered the lettuce
every day, which I think helps lettuce, as opposed to just wetting the
roots. I was very pleased with how well the lettuce stood the heat - the
variety I was especially pleased with was the rouge grenobloise, which stood
the heat and tasted great - even the stuff we ate personally after it
bolted. I started the seeds on those on the first of May and transplanted
on the 23rd. cut the last ones for market on July 20 - and did they ever
sell well, wish I'd had lots more!
