OK, Bill, I'm laughing. But make sure Dori knows. It started sounding like
a diatribe against her post.
I really knew nothing about the phrase "rule of thumb" but there are plenty
of common usages out there that are inappropriate only because they are
vague and biased. As a technical writer, I am biased for clarity. Isn't
Dori a technical writer too?
People often use words without any sense for what they actually mean. I
enjoyed the extended lesson.
