Just a little story about what has happened to a market near me when it
tried to be conveinient for farmers and customers-
A town got a urban renewal grant to spruce up its downtown area and
decided to build a new facility for its farmers' market. It's gorgeous!
Big, clean, well landscaped, has bathrooms, water and power hookups for
its vendors.... And ..... It's nearly empty! They decided to go to a six
day a week, sun up to sundown schedule so that its more convinient for
both customer and farmer and allows the facility to be used more, but now
there's usually only 1-3 vendors at any time during the week except on
Saturdays when they do have quite the crowd and special events.
Gotta at least keep hours so that attendance is "clustered" for lack of a
better word according to # of shoppers and farmers. Too much convienience
is a bad thing!
