Beth: Greens are not our speciaty but we sell beet greens, spinach, lettuce,
( mix about 10 varietys toghther and seed in a 5' by 5' squares) cut what is
ready every week and take to market iced down. Sell chard all summer long,
both bright lights and regular chard.
We are not organic, we tried to get certified 20 years ago and just really
couldn't get it accomplished at that time, can't get away from the over spray
of the highway dept, the REC and a couple of my neighbors that really don't
want us here, O'H well i was here first, since 1965. Some of them are now
losing their land trying to keep up with the large Corp Farms.
Unlike a few I would be lost without Farmers Markets and the customers that
they draw to my stand. The first few times that you go to a market you may
not realize a large income (sales) but if you are persisitant in going and
continue to go regardless of some of the other vendors attitude toward you,
you will succeed in gaining a good sales record.
What your Mind can conceive you can achieve.
Phil from Iowa.
