I would personally oppose the presence of non-profits selling against people
who are there to make a living. That strikes me as a real problem in
development.
If the market doesn't mind giving non-profits booths or spaces for
information distribution only that wouldn't be a terrible idea. But I would
want them all together and not mixed in with produce vendors.
Our market has a master gardener booth where they distribute info about the
program. We don't charge them for the space in exchange for assisting the
market manager when he needs help or for assisting vendors when they are
setting up or tearing down.
The idea of anyone walking around to customers and sticking a petition in
their faces would be unacceptable to me. Sound like a good way to annoy
your customers.
The problem is that if you let one group in you're probably going to have to
let everyone in UNLESS you come up with a guideline for ag related political
groups.
