In Iowa if you want to be certified organic you have to have follow alll the
rules and keep production records, and you have to have a farm inspection by
the state, and pay so much per acre for fees. If you raise less than $5000
gross, you can skip everything but the production records and the rule
following, but you do have to fill out an affidavit with the certifing
agengy and you are liable to be inspected randomly. No fees and no
mandatory inspection. Other than that I don't think you can use the words
organic any where.
