Janet,
More and more dairy farms are using the bark bed filters because they seem
to handle the volume of water everyday that is produced from the milkhouse
waste. I have not heard any complaints on them within the two counties that
I have worked in. If you contact your local SWCD/NRCS office, the District
Conservationist could provide you with dimensions and what materials would
be needed. If you have problems there, let me know and I will check at our
local office and try to get some information for you.
