There isn't a reference to depth so the standard assumption would be a
plow layer depth of 6" to 8". The acidification process should be relatively
rapid in a high pH soil. However, it is a good point to incorporate it.

Another 50 lb would certainly not be a bad idea if you're starting above
7.0. Even if it took the pH below 6.5, it wouldn't be too low, particularly
in a regime that tends toward alkaline anyway.
