I'd like to get some feed back from anyone who's experienced with these two
particular soils, especially if they're planting in high mountain desert.

Our local NRCS officer said the only way to break down the soil is compost,
compost, compost. Sorry, but I just don't have that much compost! I tried
cover crops of red clover, but we're just too dry and not allowed by the
state to use much water for irrigation, and most of the seed didn't come
up.

I'm putting out Lavender and Milkweed this year (organic), they don't
require much water once established, but I'm just a little girl and this
razor clay is breaking me down! Any ideas?

Blessings,
Ava
