<snip> My trays slide under the lights <snip>
Dear Dave,
What do you use for the trays or flats? I have been looking in the seed
catalogs for things to plant seeds in and have become confused with all the
odd numbers. I'm assuming that one needs a tray that will hold water.
Until this year, we've used the flats that we've gotten when we bought
plants at the greenhouse, but they're wearing out.
Morgan County Wholesale lists:
#917 Flat, solid bottom, no holes, 100 to a case, $35. for one case.
10-1/2" wide x 21" long
I don't even see a 200 cell flat like the Gregsons use. There are 606
inserts, 804 inserts, 1202 inserts, 20 row seedling tray insert. Is there
ONE kind of insert I could get for all the seeds??? Or could I just get
the flats, fill 'em up with dirt and compost and slice 'em like brownies
like Liz does? Would those work with a mechanical planter? Do I need to
be reading something I've overlooked?
