Hmmm, well, like I said before, all I can report is what the USDA told
me - that the USDA takes precedence over all local laws when it comes to
retail sales of meat - and actually I have seen no evidence to the
contrary here of that.

Is there ANYONE out there who is allowed to sell retail cuts of meat
without having it processed through a USDA approved and inspected
facility? What state are you in? What are the restrictions? The USDA
has told me that I can't do this. If the USDA has misinformed me on
that point then I'll follow up on that when the time comes.

As for factual or nonfactual information, the specific quote that was
being referenced started out "I think" and was not stated as absolute
fact, and was intended to illustrate the very differences from state to
state and within the state that we are faced with even when we do not
fall under the purview of the USDA.
