a ported version of akismet is in the current 34 trunk, which is quite
stable.

each user will need their own key:

Ouch! Is there really no way around that requirement? That's a *major* admin pain even for a 20-user blog, nevermind for people out there with hundreds of users.

Akismet for Movable Type gets installed with one key for the entire MT installation, regardless the number of blogs or users.
