Tragically, no past civilization has ever been able to step away
from the path of destruction even if many must have seen what was
happening. And it seems that we will not be an exception. We are loosing 25 billion ton of top soil every year world wide. In the Northern hemisphere we convert oil into food extremely inefficiently. It often costing hundreds of times the energy in oil to produce an energy unit of food. In the Southern hemisphere agriculture uses mining of soil and nutrients instead. Imo one of the main dangers is globalization that makes that it does not matter that locally destroying stupidity can take place. Food can always be imported from somewhere else (for now). If we all were more locally self sufficient the ongoing destruction locally would sooner be noticed and acted upon. John On 18/06/16 19:56, herb farmer wrote:
