There is a problem with certified organics that doesn't get much notice if
any. Crops can be legally certified without any soil building whatever, which
can result in poor nutritional value. This is because the whole program is
about what cannot be put in the soil or on the crops. There is no minimum
requirement for compost or any soil amendment, never has been. But nutrient
dense or high brix produce can only come from healthy, balanced,
nutrient-rich soil.
