Like we've said all along, never a better time to get into market growing, and for these very reasons. Amazing to find this written in the International Herald Tribune.
A sort-of related observation--a friend who lives in Chicago says that in some of the poorest neighborhoods there, people have been tearing down fences and combining what little open space they have in order to plant neighborhood gardens. Someone complained about chickens being kept there (my friend said that Chicago had allowed chickens in the past), and there is apparently some attempt before the city council to ban chickens now, which she was very indignant about. I've asked her for links to online articles, and I'll pass them on when I hear from her. But I thought this was a good example of people working together to help each other.
