Depends on the composition of the compost I'd say. Some compost may be too
rich in certain materials or not enough. The best compost is made with some
soil in the mix or layered. Keep in mind that finished compost undergoes
further changes in the ground due to microbial action and contact with the
soil in the garden. My own view is compost is never finished until it's in
the soil or becoming soil under a layer of mulch through the year. As they
say, nature bats last.
