My ex husband and his wife are visiting us (in Ohio), from Phoenix for our son's HS graduation. She likes to garden, but hasn't tried much in their sandy, cactus-y lot. I served kolarabi along with many other cut vegetables I bought. She had never had it before and loves it. I have visited the southwest, and have seen my cousin growing nice tomatoes in her flower beds near Sedona, and an acquaintance in Holbrook growing beautiful lettuce under a cloth.
Is it possible to grow kolarabi fairly easily in Phoenix? If so, are there any special tips? I Googled it, and came up with the growing season being fall and winter. Things there are quite a bit different than in Ohio. Can you use dishwater for your garden? Thanks.
Gwen
