Here in Central Texas, my crops (both trees and veggies), would benefit from a heat-trapping cover Nov - Mar, and part shade from Jun - Aug.  However it's hard on me and the materials to raise and lower large covers several times a year. Anyone have a better idea?  Also, what % shade cloth?  The 50% I have seems like too much shade, especially during frequent cloudy periods, such as we are currently experiencing.

Of course, all this is about extending the seasons and moderating extremes for better production.
