No-till or 0-tillage means that the only time the soil is distrubed is when planting  and when harvesting certain crops. Harvesting most crops does not distrubed the soil.   There is no cultivating, chiseling, plowing, moldboarding, disking and any other word you know.
 
No-till farmers will have a no-till planter for rowcrops and/or a no-till drill for planting broadcast.  The no-till planter opens up a six inch wide space in which to drop the seed and cover them. The area between the rows is left covered with the residue of the last crop on top of the soil.
 
Any farmer who says he is no-till and does not have one is NOT no-till.
 
As in the garden, just plant and harvest. It works.  200,000,000 acres worldwide.
