Description
A one-day how-to conference organized by Eliot Coleman and hosted by
Stone Barns. Featuring presentations by John Bartok of the University of
Connecticut, John Biernbaum of Michigan State University, Pete Johnson
of Pete's Greens, Lisa Turner of Laughing Stock Farm, Eliot Coleman of
Four Season Farm, Siri Beringer of Watermark Botanicals, and Jack &amp;
Shannon Algiere of Stone Barns. Topics will include: Greenhouse design
for low-cost winter production; Winter vegetable varieties; Effect of
temperature and light levels on timing winter plantings; Alternative
fuels for heating the winter greenhouse; Building a large greenhouse
using on-farm resources (for 30 cents per square foot); New tillage,
seeding and harvesting tools for the greenhouse grower! $90 registration
fee (includes lunch). Registration deadline December 1.
