Hey Joe C,

No problem. Anything else on your Christmas wish list?
( Does this mean we need to recruit another Joe with his last name starting
with A? )

And for Thomas - I have reached my limit of dashing around, so will have to
pass on the driving option. I will send you a picture of your odd shaped
whip to see if you want just part or all of it and then you can decide if
you want it now or next spring. I'll opt for next spring on the quince. We
are resorting to extreme measures to save the small sized grafted whips -
about 150 to 180, and are hoping to wrap up transplanting this Monday. The
rain on Thursday was just too much after a few hours, when it really started
to pour.

This weekend we're making our 2006 cassis, and we have a bumper crop.

Tom - we are going to follow one of your recipes and try for gooseberry
butter instead of gooseberry jam. Another yummy concoction.

Thanks to everyone for the carboy ideas. I think we're going local retail to
get them fast and easy.

Have a great weekend to all.
Cheers, Bizmark.

Joe B, if you're picking up some Ashmead's Kernel, pick up one or two scions
for me, will you? Thanks Joe and Biz

Joe C.

Hi Joe

Oodles of Ashmead's Kernel scionwood this winter. Almost all had good growth
this summer. ( Twenty whips planted in 2005. ) Anything else on your wish
list?

There is an Irish apple - Ross Non-Pareil - that is remarkable. Although
there won't be scionwood for another year or two - you must have some. The
taste is fantastic.

Did you ever acquire any Glowing Heart from Fred Janson? It was his second
pink flesh apple released after Pink Princess. I am trying to locate his
widow for the okay to circulate. According to Claude Jolicoeur it is a
lovely little summer apple. I would hate to see his efforts to breed this
variety be wasted.

Cheers. Bizmark.

All grew out fine. I'm still looking to get Ashmedes Kernel if you have
scion wood available.

Hello All,

Isn't this weather fabulous!
We are managing to get oodles of things transplanted before the cold front
moves in this Friday. I also have a few assorted questions on completely
different topics.

Carboys - my best half wants to get some proper carboys instead of the
crystal springs water jugs. Any ideas where to get them?  Someone told me
that Costco carries them, so they are going to get a call from me this
morning. Any other local Toronto or southern Ontario suppliers?

Tom - Can I send you the Lady / Court Pendu Plat whip this week, or shall I
wait till spring? I can also include a package for the quince if you can
tell me how tall they are and if you can put the roots in a plastic bag.
Your Richelieu whip was so small I sent it with the others into cold storage

for the winter.

Bert - are the quince that you have for me still accessible or shall I wait
for spring? I am heading to the farm either Wed. night or Thursday morning,
early, and can swing by on the way.

Joe - did the scionwood I sent you this spring grow out for you or do you
need addidtional wood this winter? I am starting to put reminder ribbons on
branches in this decent weather, so I don't have to think too much in the
freezing temps. I just look for the pink ribbons and drop into baggies
already labelled.

That's all for now, but I will have more to share and ask later.
Cheers, Bizmark.
