Something to be careful of, though - even if her health care insurer
offers international "out of network" coverage, it would not necessarily
cover additional expenses such as medical flights to return her home if
she were ill or injured. Plus, if she is traveling to anywhere that
might not have adequate facilities, she might need transport simply to
reach appropriate care, which also might not be covered.

Lastly, be aware that neither Medicare nor Medicaid offer any coverage
outside the US. Important to know if you are planning travel for or with
an elderly person.
