I can't really vouch for effectiveness. IMHO a good windows reinstall
is usually worthwhile every so often due to a condition that I call
"Windows Rot". If you do decide to use a registry cleaner, try to get
one that is from a well known company or that is open source. The
reason that I say that is because a lot of them out there are nothing
more that spyware that only pretends to make your computer faster.
