That's what I suggested :) Have someone who can climb stairs take the
laptop upstairs and plug it into the router. If a hardwire connection
works, make a trip to Intrex to get a long cable...

If wireless won't give up to go and a long patch cord will, I've got a
plethora of wire in my corporate headquarters (garage) that I can pull from
pro bono.
