Open Workbench seems to be exactly the sort of think I was looking for. Very low function. But it's free and it does the few core things that I need it to, which is to make a pretty gant chart and let me track which steps are dependent on which and which ones are complete etc.
be a port of Linux or OS X since it's tied to Microsoft's MFC classes. I suppose a port (or two or three, whatever) could still happen, but I'm not terribly optimistic. Then
again I haven't looked at the project in a while, for all I know there already is a Linux port. :-)
