I can't speak to those particular models, but I've had good experiences with
the Brother MFC line.  I had a 720 which was $200 when I got it and ran fine for ~5 years.  It then
developed a thin white line which would show up on all printed sheets.  Traditional cleaning did no good,
but it still worked.  Again, I dunno about the latest MFC you have listed there, but earlier
ones were little workhorses.

My trusty HP Laserjet 5P just gave up the ghost after 10+ years.  I have
decided to replace it with a multifunction unit because I need a better
fax machine as well.  I need to keep the price below $300.00 and I tend
to favor the laser printers because I often print readymade letterhead
on cotton rag paper and need it to look professional.  But I'm not sure.

After surfing Amazon user ratings for a few hours, I've narrowed the
field down to a few models:
- - Canon imageCLASS MF3240 (laser)
- - Canon PIXMA MP830 (inkjet)
- - Brother MFC-7820N (laser)
- - Lexmark X8350 (inkjet)

Does anyone have experience with any of these models?  Are there any
other excellent multifunction printers that I am overlooking?

Thanks for your collective wisdom.

Thomas
