Try repairing permissions. Might not help, but it couldn't hurt.

I've been a Mac convert for a few weeks now and I'm a bit disappointed with
its stability. About once a week something hangs up and I can't do
anything. It seems to be when I'm running a lot of apps and I think it only
happens when Photoshop is running. I can only hope Rosetta has some bugs
that will be ironed out in later revs. I'm running the max RAM at 2GB and
its an Intel Duo Core 2.0GHz so there should be plenty of power.

My question is what do I do when it happens? The thing is so bogged down
that I can't even get Terminal opened to try and kill a process. I've had
to resort to powering it down. As much hate as Windows gets on this list I
have to say that I can always kill an out of control process on a PC without
rebooting.
