In other news, a small minority of county caucuses chose non-Edwards
candidates Kerry, Kucinich, and Dean on that fateful day in April. The
Kucinich camp was led by Orange County, who said, "Hey Edwards, get back
to work!"

When informed that the overall caucus had been won by their former
Senator, Orange and Watauga counties declared their secession from the
state. Residents in Watauga neighbor Wilkes County proclaimed their
immense sadness at losing one of the state's finest meth-lab havens, and
US Highway 421 was blocked for several hours at the Wilkes-Watauga border
as the hippies tried to get into the ex-Carolina county and the rednecks
tried to get out.

Visitors to Orange neighbors Durham and Wake counties reported hearing
residents grumble "good riddence, and don't come back without a football
team". Tensions seem to be running high, but this reporter is unable to
locate anyone willing to go on the record at this time. Interstate 40 was
blocked for several hours around the hours of 9am, 12pm, and 6pm, but
nothing indicates this was abnormal.
