Job Title: Web designer/developer
Job Description: The Web designer/developer is responsible for the
design and production of online courses built for and Web sites built
on Isoph Blue, Isophs core application for the creation of Web
communities driven by learning. The successful candidate will be
required to assess, make recommendations for, and execute the design
of various Web projects. This full-time position will work at Isophs
headquarters in Carrboro, North Carolina. No relocation expenses are
available; local candidates are preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform tasks and responsibilities assigned by the
creative team, working efficiently and collaboratively with project
members to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget. Be
proactive in defining task list, and take initiative to provide
feedback and innovative ideas.
Support other designers/developers
by providing feedback and/or proofing work of others on project team
during internal review sessions. Incorporate feedback from others on
your work.
Apply a critical, detailed review process to your own
work. Rely on yourself as the first line in quality
assurance.
Review and be familiar with all client creative
requirements, brand attributes, and style guidelines for the
project.
Review and be familiar with all project documentation,
such as integrated processes, including project plans, design
document, meeting notes, and schedule.
Develop online courses using
pre-existing templates and conventions for file naming and structure.
Manage files and development environments responsibly so others can
easily locate items and understand their purpose.
Work closely with
others (project manager and other team members) to schedule and
implement tasks according to the project schedule. Proactively
communicate issues and challenges that may affect timely sequence of
deliverables.
Implement graphic design production, preparing
content in optimized formats to the development team members for
efficient integration.
Keep current with technologies and
creative/design strategies across all media types. Demonstrate
interest in exploring new methodologies and processes for production,
and suggest improvements. Capture knowledge gained during work that
will benefit the production process ongoing.
React constructively
to difficult tasks and multiple deadlines. Suggest alternative means
of accomplishing tasks to overcome obstacles to completing
work.
Develop in stages, including flow diagrams, storyboards
sketches, etc., to allow for input early in the process, before full
implementation begins. Efficiently produce proofs of
concept.
Design and develop online courses and Web sites that
reflect the highest production values, conform to appropriate
standards, and demonstrate instructional value.
Be sensitive and
responsive to projects with a wide range of budgetary and technical
needs.
Be an intelligent representative of Isoph, able to explain
our products and services and articulate our mission.
