The Edinburgh news reports that a survey of pubs in that city found that half of the pubs are selling short measures of whisky to their patrons.

"In the worst cases, the measure served to the trading standards officers was up to eight per cent short."

"A big problem we find is that many bars use thimbles to serve measures, while the more reliable method is using an optic," he said.

No indication on whisky service in Glasgow.
