How is this different than normal supply and demand economics? Why
is this news? If the guy was going to slash his current staffs' pay,
we would call him an asshole. He does the same thing (being
proactive) and he is some kind of wizard.
How many companies have laid off people then hired them back as
contractors with no benefits and at half time? Moral: CEO gets a
raise for improving productivity and loyal (usually older) staff
get screwed. I bet Business Week won't write that story.
