I agree that he is strategically correct. But I still think it shows
his prejudice toward the south. What he should have said is: "We need
to find ways to bring conservative southern democrats back into the
fold." Or "I want to be the candidate that can bridge the gap between
liberal northern democrats and conservative southern democrats."
