Here's an interesting gig: do y'all know anyone who could drive a
Japanese film crew around the Outer Banks (and presumeably inland) for
ten days next month? $300/day.

Tom,

I've had an odd request come through my office. A film crew from Tokyo is
headed to the Outer Banks next month to do a documentary on the red wolf
(which is apparently near extinction). They're looking for someone local who
can drive them around for about ten days out in Manteo (see specs of the job
below).

Are you interested or do you know of someone who might be?

Cheers,
em

増村さんへ

いろいろとお世話になります。
以下こちらのリクエストを書き出してみました。
ちょっと長くなりましたが、そちらのやりやすいように加工してくださっても結構で

宜しくお願いします。

Request :

*Driver (Guide) with 4WD or Van type vehicle
Filming crew mainly will attach the field work of the red wolf recovery
program in
Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. So we need a driver who knows
outer banks area well & especially in & around refuge territory.
Idealy the driver with media production experienced is preferable but
doesnot have to be so.
Detail/each day schedule will be imformed to us by team leader of red wolf
recovery program soon.
Anyway we need vehicle each day, from hotel ~ refuge, refuge point A~ point
B, refuge~ restaurant,
so on so forth while our staying in outer banks /North Carolina.

*Proposed filming item in ARNWR.
- Radio telemetry (radio tracking of wolves) by car & by foot.
- Wolf processing/veterinary care in captive pens or feeding in captive
pens from blind facility.
- Aerial shots by airplane or helicopter, we rent our own airplane.
- Some trapping opportunity to check radio collar or taking blood sample
etc.,
- General viewing or filming of wildlife refuge & outer banks.
- Interviews with biologists.
- Interviews with local landowners or other members of local communities.
- A public "howling safari" for tourists.

*Filming period
Location Hunting 2~3 people
Aug 11 mon / to be picked at Norfolk Virginia Air Port ~ Manteo
Meeting in day light hours at ARWNR office if we
arrive early on the day.

Seeking location site.
13 wed / Previous research in ARWNR
3 people(main crew) arrival from Japan with camera

* Binding hours
10~12 hours average per each day, basically during day light hours.
Depending on what we'll be able to film, hours can be shorter.

* Vehicle Type
For air port pick up, we don't need 4WD vehicle.
During filming period in refuge, we may need 4WD to follow refuge's
vehicle.
Precise filming place in refuge will be discussed soon to finalize what
kind of
vehicle we need at ARNWR.

* Fare
For reference, this role is called P.A (Production Assistance) in Japan.
We usually pay around 300 usd/vehicle+driver/12h-day, in this size of
crew member.
Meal will be supplied with crew & gasoline is paid separately to driver.
However the rate could be negotiated between ?
