There's always emacs, as well. Over the years, I've used special major
modes for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and so forth. If you can handle
the more or less unreadable error messages, you can even run SGML mode
and validate your pages before they're posted. I worked for a while with
a multi-mode that was smart enough to switch into CSS mode if the point
moved inside a <style> element, javascript-mode if it moved into a
<script> element, and so forth, but I've found that it makes more sense
to work exclusively with external styles and scripts. My alteration of
java-mode to create a workable javascript-mode has been extended and is
now part of the XEmacs distro.

For the record, I also use vi and BBEdit.
