If in fact you don't have plans for the 4th yet, please come down to the
Raleigh Capitol Indepencence Day Celebration. My band Big Money Grip will be
playing Jazz/Funk/Groove instrumentals from 1-3 pm on the south stage.
Nothing like funk, sweat and family entertainment.

CELEBRATE JULY 4TH AT THE CAPITOL AND MUSEUM OF HISTORY!

Celebrate America's independence in downtown Raleigh at the State Capitol
and N.C. Museum of History on July 4th with live music, re-enactments,
games, hands-on activities, and food and craft vendors on Capitol Square,
Bicentennial Plaza and inside the Museum of History.

This year, the event will take place on Thursday, July 4, from 10 a.m.-3
p.m. Regional musicians and dancers will provide non-stop entertainment
stages, including performances by the 11th N.C. Regimental Band, Raleigh
Concert Band, N.C. State University Pipes and Drums, the Crazies 4 Jesus,
Connection 55 Line Dancers, Daniel Tighe's School of Irish Dance, Carolina
Heartland Cloggers, the School of Scottish Dance, Halell Dance Team, Master
K.S. Lee's Martial Arts Academy, St. Mark's Jazz Band, Jackson Road and Big
Money Grip.

The event will have a presidential focus to complement the museum's newest
exhibition, Portraits of the Presidents from the National Portrait Gallery.
The traveling exhibition was organized by National Portrait Gallery,
Smithsonian Institution.

Capitol Square will feature historical and crafts demonstrations and
displays from local museums. At noon, a "Salute to Independence" ceremony
will honor North Carolinians who have served the nation, with music by the
11th N.C. Regimental Band and a children's parade. Holiday parking will be
free and available.
