Let's see, should I list all the reasons I can think of for desiring to do
this? Off the top of my head, there comes. . .
1. Complete and total design freedom
2. Ability to create truly custom interaction
3. Ability to present several pages of info without having to change HTML
pages -- avoiding that damned blank page as the new HTML loads. . .

Shall I continue? No offense, but used correctly Flash is a wonderful tool
for web design, much better than HTML alternatives.

That¹s not to say that the coder should continually attempt to throw you
into the flash version (can't even imagine why the hell this would happen)
or put up a site that doesn't detect your player version to avoid bugs that
leave users stuck, but I think even now, in the era of dial up, all - flash
sites are a viable alternative to HTML sites, if and only if, you are an
advanced flash designer and you know how to control the streaming/loading of
content well through the use of actionscript. Frankly, I've created flash
sites that load more quickly than the equivalent HTML sites I created, due
to good use of optimization, streaming, & content loading. Not to mention
the ability to display high quality vector art, which is a hell of a lot
smaller than it's gif equivalent.

Sorry, hope I don't seem like I'm on a soapbox, but I LOVE flash.
