y'all, i mean this in a spirit of love for all things bbq, and i suspect
immigrants to our fair land have a diversity of opinion as to what bbq
means, or even the correct way to spell it, but i would feedback that to
instruct as though the term "pig picking" has something to do with
"gas-fired" is giving those unfamiliar with -the process- a bum steer of
epic proportions. i realize that within the triangle there is a near
vacuum of -wood-fired- bbq, but i personally attribute that to the rapid
and sustained influx of bbq retarded newcomers to our community. as soon
as one drives a short distance away from the general area of future
light rail right of way, one can discover the splendor that is true wood
fired bbq. we can turn this into a positive, of course, by driving to
wilson some weekend and partaking of the ultimately fine bbq at
mitchells.

here are some of the chronicles of my obsession with all things bbq:

i enjoyed meeting some of y'all last night at artist's escape, although
the function was just a bit more sedate than what i imagined it would
be. i only had just a little beer and chocolate fondue spilled on me.
let's do it again next month, shall we?
