Today I picked elderberries. I came home with multiple bags of
flowerheads, and gently removed the ripest berries. I intend to toss
the remaining berries/stem waste in various places around the property
to try and encourage my own elderberry plants. Anyway, I ended up with
just under 5 pounds of berries (that is about 4" of berries in a paper
grocery bag.) I want to dry some for use in teas, and I think I might
make some jam.
Since they are small, do you think they will dry in 48 hours on window
screens at approximately 85 degrees(my 'uncool' spare bedroom with a
ceiling fan running)? With the tropical storm passing by, and with all
the expected rain over the next several days, drying outside is out of
the question. However, I might need the bedroom for company by the end
of the week...
