ago. It gave them an opportunity to be closer to their four kids,
control their workday, preserve rare-breed animals and sell meats
raised locally.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Wednesdays.
Directions from Spartanburg: Take I-26 East to Exit 35. Turn right
onto S.J. Workman Highway. Drive 0.6 miles, then turn left onto Sam
Davis Road.

The family has participated in the Hub City Farmers' Market the past
two years, and now it's opening its own store on its 80-acre farm.
Live Oak Farm Store opens Saturday and will sell meat and dairy
products, as well as grits and cornmeal from farms across the
