I'll let you know. The idea is to allow one or the other to grow. I
planted pecans or walnuts every other hole. They are 3 paces apart so
if they all cam up will get lots of thinning to what I decide to keep
in a few years. They will not all come up or survive.

This planting is at the entrance of the 50' strip of land that forms a
lane to the back woods, so nothing to worry about growing near it.
I'll let you know what sort of germination and when I get it.

It's good information to compare, especially since we are in similar
climates. Pines and cedars will come here once I fence out the goats,
no need to plant. I've been fretting over how to properly manage this
hillside when I plow it up. It finally dawned on me that creating a
division right where it erodes would be that best way. I'll have 2
fields 200 feet or more in length and be able to add them to a
rotation including pasture.

I want to get bees started again. I have lots of sourwood in the woods
and might add some seedlings of those to the black locust. Nice bee
pasture that has a dual purpose.

I'm going to get the locust trees from the Va. state nursery.
