That is awesome, Lisa, simply awesome. I am happy, proud and jealous!

Hi homestead friends,

I just completed my online application and sent it in along with an essay
written yesterday. I did it! I'm nervous about the commitment. I'm going
back to school to finish my BA in Nutrition at Clayton College.

Though I'm very interested in economics, I am frustrated by most economists
and how most of their work is accomplished by looking backwards. I'd been
considering which way to go--economics or nutrition. What sealed it for me
was the announcement last month that our country was in a Recession and had
been for a full year. That announcement drove me nuts, most of us already
knew what they had waited and waited and analyzed data and crunched numbers
to tell us twelve months after the fact. I may find economics interesting
and can still read about it, but I don't want to be an economist.

It feels right to begin now. I'm very interested in nutrition and natural
health and read related books for fun. It's a growing field and I can do
something with it down the road.

That's my 'big' news.

Lisa

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race"
