Since Santa did not drop one of these off, I'm thinking about buying
one. Like this one:

I can send off soil samples for free (minus shipping) testing but
since I'm really concentrating on correcting ph and building up
nutrients, I'm thinking one of these would give me a quick look at how
I'm doing. Also might be good for checking sub areas, like part of the
garden that I suspect is more acid than the other part, or the corner
of the back field where the soil is really not nice. Then again if it
does not work, I might be better off spending the money on lime.
Anyone ever used one? I'm concerned with what they mean by checking
combined n-p-k ... what does "combned" mean in that context?
