NAIS - the National Animal Identification System - is a plan to embed global
tracking tags in every single farm animal in the country with all data
flowing into a corporate data bank. It is paired with a property ID system
which would register the related farm property with the USDA (whether or not
the animals remain).

NAIS is also paired with penalties for failure to comply that begin at
$1000-$250,000 for a single first infraction and the second jumps to
$500,000. That is, NAIS would allow for the instant elimination of any
rancher or farmer by the USDA, which is working on behalf of agribusiness,
the competition to those farmers and ranchers.

This system make NSA spying look kind by comparison. Farmers have to pay for
the equipment which will spy on their every move and fees of various kinds,
file instant reports about any movement of their animals if they leave the
property at all or face what are clearly bankrupting penalties.

click here left is aware of the endless number of regulatory changes Bush is
making in his last gasp of mad control. Please note though all are aimed to
satisfy his corporate masters, and most are ANTI-regulatory, NAIS is
SUPER-regulatory - like any Patriot Act, War, Homeland Security, or
Intelligence Agency moves. NAIS was promoted as voluntary but despite that
across the board farming and ranching protests over it and despite it being
challenged in court on a host of democratic grounds,

click here this rush to lock into place regulations that are dangerous for
this democracy, NAIS just got made mandatory.

Forget the hoax of food safety as the reason - the animals are ID'd from
birth to death out the whazoo already - and concentrate as hard as you can on
two things. Animals are about to be taken over in the same way food is -
through genetic engineering. And NAIS provides a means by which industry -
which already controls a vast majority of poultry, beef, hogs and milk cows -
can easily locate every single independent rancher or farmer in the US (all
the little local guys who are what sustainable agriculture depends on) and
eliminate them fake food scares and through penalties.

If that sounds far fetched, you are missing what is already going on with raw
(real) milk in Pennsylvania click here California, which despite years of
selling real milk in groceries without incident, the USDA has now set out to
declare it illegal for health reasons, destroying not only independent
farmers but citizens' rights to choose what they eat. Meanwhile, have you
seen all the ads for Happy Cows from California? The California Milk Board,
which is happily crushing any of the independent dairy farmers - the ones who
get paid $7 a gallon by customers and can stay in business, versus those who
get paid $1.50 a gallon by the corporations running this game.

This same government-coming-down-on-farmers-for-health-reasons to the point
of crushing the competition is happening to goat owners and sheep owners.
When an article appears in the paper trumpeting a small farmer who has
started a little business selling goat cheeses or sheep cheese, shortly after
the health department shows up with massive fines and those people are gone.
Or they take the animals and slaughter them outright with no proof of any
illness.

click here that Monsanto is one of the corporations behind NAIS and is
engaged in genetic engineering, and given what they have done around seeds
(taking control of almost all soy and corn in this country, not just through
lies and aggressive sales, but through actively eliminating other seed
companies) and given that they are now eliminating seed cleaners (the ones
who help farmers collect their own seeds), the last chance for sustainable
agriculture since all that will be left are GE-seeds, and by mafia methods,
it is not even a reach to see what is coming with animals and how NAIS is
central to that.

Below is an article about NAIS from Australia where it proved a complex mess.
