What are your plans??
The good thing about most of the alternative building practices is they are not really that complicated. Of course you should use an engineer for the basics of the structure, but learning to do the wall systems (in the case of straw it is infill) can be taught on the job by those who have done it before.
Any attempt at homesteading is a noble endeaver, don't belittle yourself!

You have a lot of varied knowledge. Hopefully you have friends close by or maybe family for whom you can teach . When people like you or susan or james,and others, start talking about all of the things you have already done, I feel very shallow in my plans for what I intend to do <g> .....bobford
