Yesterday, I did not even notice small fruit on my okra plants.
Today, all of the plants have okra, two have individual okra over 5"
long. I was either blind yesterday, or they really grew fast. I
wish I planted more than (4) plants. I don't know if I'll remember
how to tell when its ready to pick.

5" is about the maximum of what I would want. I eat them raw when they are 1-4 inches long. MMMMM...
Smaller = tender
Larger = woody
You have to keep okra cut so it will continue to produce. It is tempting to let those big ones go for seed, but don't do that until the end of the season because you have to keep the okra cut. I actually had 6 plants this year. :)
Next year, I will be planting more. I had some unknown okra seed and was hopeful that it was a dwarf burgundy type, so I planted a few. It wasn't. None of the okra I grew made it into the house. I ate the pods as garden snacks. :)

I picked a few tomatoes, including some very oddshaped red ones (look
like a thick jalapeno pepperr), and some nice yellow ones.

Do you have paste tomatoes, like a sausage type?
