I am reading Malcom Gladwell's book "Blink" which is about how people today make decisions in a blink (like choosing Palin...?), often based on feelings they can't rationalize or explain. Working with web design, this interests me because people have a very short time (a few seconds at most) in which they decide to either read more or click on to something else. I think a lot of people were turned off by the fact McCain would not look Obama in the eye. This may seem trivial, but if you read the blogs it was noticed in a big way by both sides and on a deep level it bothered them. To be sure, McCain's advisors will be coaching him to make eye contact in the next one.

One more post and I am off to bed..
I have noticed that over the last two weeks, all the polls on the CNN home page-the quick votes-show Obama winning by wide margins..
the poll I just did was "who fared better in the first debate"
The results:
McCain    27%
Obama    67%
Neither    6%

I guess they saw a different debate than I did, but whatever.  Regardless of the poll question, this has been indicative of the spread.
If this is a trend or is accurate, the Obama will win this race by a landslide.
